HTML Tutorial 2 :What Is HTML

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. It is the main markup language for creating web pages and other information that can be displayed. HTML is written in the form of HTML elements consisting of tags enclosed in angle brackets like <html>.
         An example of HTML is shown below :

                           <!DOCTYPE html>
                           <html>
                           <body>

                           <h1>DIPANKAR CHOUDHURY LAB</h1>

                           <p>Blog On Computer Languages</p>

                           </body>
                           </html>

The text between <h1> and </h1> is displayed as a heading and the text between <p> and </p> is displayed as a paragraph. The extension for saving HTML code is .htm and for editing you can use notepad. The output of the above code is shown in the following snapshot->
